ALL CARD GAMES
INTRODUCTION
A great choice for kids and adults looking for a quick game.
Players need to keep an eye on their opponent.
HOW TO PLAY SPEED
For each player, deal one pile of five cards and another of fifteen cards. Then in the center of the table deal two piles of five cards and two more of one card. Players share the cards in the center.
Players hold the five cards dealt to them in their hands. Play starts with both players turning over the single card in the center at the same time.
Both players try to play one card higher or lower onto the face up cards that have just been turned over e.g. 5 is placed on top of the 4.
After playing a card, players pick up a card from the face down pile next to them. While this pile has cards, players should have five cards in their hand.
A card can be placed on top of either of the face up cards as long as it is one higher or lower.
If both players play a card onto the same pile then the first card played stays. The other player must take back their card.
If neither player can play, then players follow the same process at the start by turning over a card from the middle at the same time e.g. 10 and A.
If both players run out of cards in the middle, pause the game. Turn over all the central cards, shuffle them and create two new piles face down.
The A can be played as a high or low card; it can connect K, A, 2.

PLAY A CARD HIGHER OR LOWER
Both players try to play one card higher or lower onto the face up cards that have just been turned over e.g. 5 is placed on top of the 4.
Players keep playing one card higher or lower from their hand onto one of the piles.
PICK UP CARDS
After playing a card, players pick up a card from the face down pile next to them. While this pile has cards, players should have five cards in their hand.
ADDING CARDS TO EITHER PILE
A card can be placed on top of either of the face up cards as long as it is one higher or lower.
FASTEST FIRST
If both players play a card onto the same pile then the first card played stays. The other player must take back their card.
CAN'T PLAY
If neither player can play, then players follow the same process at the start by turning over a card from the middle at the same time e.g. 10 and A.
SHUFFLING THE CENTRAL PILES
If both players run out of cards in the middle, pause the game. Turn over all the central cards, shuffle them and create two new piles face down.
THE ACE
The A can be played as a high or low card; it can connect K, A, 2.
THE WINNER
When a player has no cards left in their hand, they shout “speed” and they are the winner.

TIPS
Sorting cards into number order allows them to be played quicker.
STRATEGY
Players don’t have to pick up a card straight after playing one. Another card can be played before picking up more cards.
